Para-glider Rescued By RAVEN

modesto-article

On Saturday, July 7th RAVEN responded to the area of Marlette Lake for a downed para-glider with possibly two broken legs. RAVEN crew used the helicopter cell phone to make contact with the victim. Using the victim's descriptions of where he was, RAVEN was able to locate the victim between two sharp peaks at 8,000 feet. HASTY Member Andy Monroe was lowered along with the backboard and litter. Monroe singlehandedly prepared

the patient and loaded him into the stretcher while working from an extremely steep cliff. Once the victim was prepped, he was hoisted into the aircraft in the litter. HASTY Member Monroe was next hoisted in to the aircraft and the patient was transported to Ponderosa Ranch, where he was transferred to Careflight 2.
